Raising money for Celebration Field
Bright Star Baseball is a 501©3 nonprofit special needs baseball league which allows children with special needs between the ages of 5 and 18 the opportunity to play baseball, America’s favorite pastime! Our Mission Statement is: “To provide special needs children the opportunity to experience the game of baseball while building self-esteem and peer relationships.”
Our Bright Star Baseball Board of Directors would like to announce that our Celebration Field fundraiser is currently underway and we invite you to help us reach our goal! What is Celebration Field? Bright Star Baseball’s goal is to build a field with a specialized synthetic surface for our players. With a rubberized surface, this field will allow players of all disabilities improved mobility. Those players who use wheelchairs and walkers will be able to maintain their very expensive equipment in good working order, while they participate in Bright Star Baseball games. Celebration Field will also allow our regular baseball games to continue as scheduled even after a rain storm. Several times we have had to cancel due to weather or field conditions and the inability to reschedule makeup games.
We are seeking donations to help defray the costs associated with building the field. The city of Sulphur Springs has generously agreed to our use of one of the current fields when we are able to raise the money. All donated funds will go directly towards the construction of Celebration Field, the future Home of Bright Star Baseball.
You can support our fundraising efforts by donating via PayPal. (Send Donations to Brightstarsstx@gmail.com).
Celebration Field will be built in phases as outlined below:
Phase I –
Asphalt Paving/Field Area – $40,000
Synthetic Safety Surface/Field Area – $138,500
Fencing and Dugouts- $27,800
Phase II –
Restroom/Concession Stand – $34,023
Audio/Announcer table – $10.650
Phase III –
Lighting – $65,000
Phase IV –
Parking lot – $34,000
Generous donors like you are the key to our success. Our donors can make it possible for Bright Star Baseball to provide children with special needs the opportunity to safely experience the game of baseball. We hope that we can count on your support to help with this worthy project. Bright Star Baseball is an approved 501©3 organization, 100% of your donation will be tax deductible. Donors will also be recognized on our Facebook page and www.brightstarbaseball.teampages.com. Any of the Board of Directors will be happy to speak to you or a group you represent to answer questions about this project or how your donation will be used. Why not start today?

Our Mission Statement : “To provide special needs children the opportunity to experience the game of baseball while building self-esteem and peer relationships.”
The Bright Star Baseball League is a special needs baseball program located in Sulphur Springs, TX. The Sulphur Springs Boys Baseball Association provides assistance with field assignments. The program is assisted with youth volunteers from the local community.
The goal of the program is: To provide a positive recreational opportunity for special needs children ages 5 and up needing a modified sports activity.
Game Structure:
Games are played at the Buford Park T-ball fields. Adult coaches are in charge of the games. Each child will be accompanied by a volunteer “buddy”. The coach may assign more than one buddy as he/she sees fit. Youth volunteers must be at least in the 6th grade.
Uniforms/Equipment:
There is a $20.00 fee for the participants of this program. Bats, balls, T’s and bases are supplied by Bright Star Baseball League. Bright Star Baseball League will host an awards presentation at the end of each season. Players, their families and their buddies will be invited. Each player will be presented with a participation award. Certificates may be presented to buddies if desired.
Parents’ Responsibilities:
Sign in before each game. A consent and photo authorization must be signed upon check-in at the first game. An adult family member must be present during every game. Parents may be asked to assist if problems arise with their child during a game.
Coaches Responsibilities:
The coach is in charge of maintaining control of the players/volunteers on the field to insure a positive experience in a safe environment. During games, the coach is the final authority on the number of buddies allowed on the field and in the dug-out.
Youth Volunteers “Buddies” Responsibilities:
All youth volunteers must have a signed parental release form. Volunteers must be at least a 6th grader to participate. Buddies must wear a Bright Star Baseball issued T-shirt to participate in games. This identifies them to the coach, volunteers and parents.
